Antonis Kordas

Antonis is a biologist who received his BSc from the Department of Biology, University of Crete, Greece in 2012 and his MSc in Protein Biotechnology from the same department in 2014. In 2023 he received his PhD from the Department of Materials Science and Technology, University of Crete, Greece. The subject of his PhD dissertation revolved around the creation of biomimetic environments via the use of 3D printed scaffolds towards the development of in vitro experimental models for the study of neural degeneration, regeneration and the study of neurodegenerative diseases.

He is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the NLL and TERMIM groups of the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser at the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas, where he is focusing on the fabrication of electrically conductive scaffolds and the use of electrical stimulation of 2D, 2.5D and 3D cell cultures towards the enhancement of neuronal activity, responses and regeneration.
